Outside of signing up for the latest, fastest broadband service that is available on the market today there are a few things that you can do in order to ensure that you have the most effective broadband service that is working at optimal speeds for your current connection.
Firstly, it is important to know that your connection to the internet often depends on the age of your computer. If your computer was purchased within the last few years you should be fine and have no problems processing a fast signal. If you have an older computer it may be a good idea to upgrade the software that you are running and make sure that your computer can handle the speed of your connection.
Now that you have that clear, there are a few others to look for if you find your broadband connection is just not as fast as it should be. First limit yourself to only operating within the exact number of screens that you require, about 5-10 open screens should be a limit- you can think of this as weight on your broadband connection, the more you work in the slower it will get as information is running to your computer and cannot all be processed at the same time.
It is also a good idea to shut of your computer when you are not using it so that next time you start your computer it is refreshed and ready to pick up the quickest signal available; sometimes when your computer is left on for hours or days on end it only picks up the signal that it was using previously and often slows down the process.
